Introduction to Routing
Start from Braemar Hill Road Playground and walk along Sir Cecil’s Ride to Tai Fung Au. Sir Cecil’s Ride is named after Sir Cecil Clementi, the 17th Governor of Hong Kong, who had enjoyed horseback riding often on this trail during his governorship from 1925 to 1930. At the road sign of Sir Cecil’s Ride, climb up a flight of long and steep stone steps to reach Kuan Yin Lin, and continue climbing till the end of the stone steps. Then at the junction of the Mount Parker Road, head towards Tai Fung Au. This section of the route is popular among morning walkers and holiday visitors. Along the way, you can overlook part of the beautiful scenery and buildings of Victoria Harbour.
Go downhill in the direction of Tai Tam Reservoirs and enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Tai Tam Group of Four Reservoirs and the century-old British masonry arch bridge along the way. The Tai Tam Reservoirs were built before the Second World War and is now listed as a Declared Monument of Hong Kong. The route is mostly on the restricted access of the reservoir with a few sections of relatively gentle footpaths, and the end point is at the South Gate Exit of Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir.
